WHO IS SHE? Fundraising Campaign
We have launched our 2023/24 fundraising campaign; Who is She?
The Who Is She? campaign gives you the opportunity to:
- honour an inspiring woman in your life by submitting a tribute explaining how they have impacted your life
- donate to the Ban Righ Centre which supports the education of mature women students at Queen's.

Donate to the Ban Righ Centre
Want to donate to the Ban Righ Centre but do not want to participate in Who is She?
The success of the Ban Righ Centre relies on generous support from people like you. Help us to continue doing what we do best.
In 2022 we:
- Provided over $220,000 in financial assistance to mature women students.
- Had 5500+ visits to the Centre.
- Relaunched our soup lunch program which provides a free lunch to our students daily.
Thank you for playing an important part in the future success of women students at Queen’s. Your gift makes it all possible.
How to give
There are several ways you can give to the Ban Righ Centre.
We have two main areas of need:
- Support for programs and services
- Emergency bursaries for students
We know that each of our donors has a special reason for giving and we offer heartfelt thanks for your support. A tax receipt will be issued for your gift.

- Gifts can be made online through the donation website.
- Make a gift over the phone. Call 1-800-267-7837 to make a credit card donation.
- Drop off a gift in person at the Ban Righ Centre
- Send a gift by mail. Please make the cheque payable to "Queen’s University (Ban Righ Centre)" and post to:

Give in memory or in honour
Gifts given in memory are a kind and generous way to remember and honour dear friends and loved ones. We are grateful to you for choosing to give in this way.
To give a gift “In Memory or in Honour”, you may send a cheque along with an instruction for us to the address above, or let Advancement know over the phone/in person. You will also have an opportunity to dedicate your gift when filling out the online giving form.
Leave a legacy
We would appreciate you remembering the Ban Righ Centre as a beneficiary under your will, trust, insurance policy or registered retirement plan. Please contact Susan (director) for more information on the gift options and sample designation language for estate related gifts to discuss with your advisor.
Eligible Funds for Donations

The Ban Righ Centre for Mature Women – gifts are used to support the Ban Righ Centre programs and services

The Maureen Ewan Endowment Fund – established to provide support for general operation of the Ban Righ Centre

The Jean MacLean Fund – donations are added to the endowment and the annual interest payments are used to support Ban Righ Centre programs and services

The Ellen O’Rourke Merrin Kitchen Fund – donations are added to the endowment and the annual interest payments are funds are used for kitchen operations and equipment

All bursaries are given to mature women students who demonstrate financial need. The list of bursaries is impressive; the need is greater. We are very thankful for your continued support.
