Grade Distribution Legends

Through the SOLUS Student Centre, students and alumni are able to generate Grade Distribution Reports which include the enrolment, class average, and distribution of marks for a given course and / or term.

The following sections demonstrate how reports can be produced.

Pass/Fail grading and the COVID-19 pandemic

During the 2020 winter term, Queen’s University classes and exams were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The final weeks of in-person courses and final exams were replaced by alternate methods of delivery. Some students received final grades based on Pass/Fail grading rather than a letter or numeric grade.

Pass/Fail is an approved grading scale at Queen’s University and P/F grades are not factored into the calculation of the GPA.

Transcripts that include grading for the 2020 Winter term will bear the notation "Term disrupted by COVID-19: http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/transcripts/legends"

Before you begin...
Your NetID

In order to login to the SOLUS Student Centre, you will be asked to provide your NetID and password.

Some alumni may not remember their NetID, while others may never have been issued one while they were students.

The NetID is an issued combination of letters and numbers which is unique to each student. Think of it as your individual passkey to unlocking online services from Queen's.

If you don't have a NetID, you can activate one by going to http://netid.queensu.ca/activate

This utility will require two things - one of which is your Student ID Number. If you do not remember your Student ID Number, you can contact the Office of the University Registrar at 613.533.2040, and our staff will be able to assist you.

If you have your NetID, and don't remember your password, you can do either of the following:

  • If you created your Challenge Questions and supplied an Alternate Email address, you can use the  Self Service Password Reset Tool
  • If you did not create your Challenge Questions and did not supply an Alternate Email address, you will have to contact the IT Support Centre at 613.533.6666  or complete the Online Help Form
Pop-ups Welcome

If you are planning on printing forms from the SOLUS Student Center, please ensure that your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome) is set to allow pop-up windows.

SOLUS generates form requests by producing them in an Adobe pdf format in a new browser window. If your browser is set to block pop-ups, then your forms will not appear on your computer.

In order to help users be able to allow pop-ups, an instruction sheet has been produced that lists the steps involved. The document lists the steps for each of the web browser formats mentioned above, for both the Mac and PC computing environments:https://www.queensu.ca/its/software/supported-software/web-browsers/pop-ups/enabling-pop-ups-tutorial
