Grades

Here you will find information on grades - when they are posted in SOLUS and when they will appear on official documents (such as transcripts). You will also find information when degrees earned will appear on your transcript.

Undergraduate and Distance Students: How to View Your Winter 2020 Term Grades /Late Drop a Course

In response to the current adjustment of the Winter 2020 academic term, the deadline for dropping Winter term and multi-term courses for Undergraduate and Distance students without academic penalty has been extended to May 20th.

We have ensured that your grades will be available should you wish to view your grades prior to dropping a course. Those interested in dropping courses can do so via the instructions located here.

The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) is here to provide service to you.

We have adjusted our services to online delivery in an effort to help reduce the global spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Our commitment to provide support to you remains our priority during this time and our core operations will continue.  As many staff within the OUR are working remotely, we would ask that your inquiries be directed as follows:

If you wish to submit a request to have a form completed (i.e. CPP) or request a letter (i.e. degree certificate) please visit http://queensu.ca/registrar/forms/doc-request for easy and complete instructions on how to submit the Document Request Form.  Please continue to watch for updates on our web site.

Final Grade and Degree Release Dates

FALL TERM GRADES  - January 12th

 

WINTER TERM GRADES

  • Undergraduate and Distance Students  - May 21st

  • Graduate Students - May 12th

 

SUMMER TERM GRADES - TBD for all

SPRING DEGREES

The degree confer date which prints on transcripts and parchments is June 1st.:

FALL DEGREES

The degree confer date which prints on transcripts and parchments is November 1st

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

Although final grades may appear in the SOLUS Student Center early, they will not print on official transcripts until the date noted above For students in the Queen's School of English and Continuing Teacher Education, grades will print on your Official Transcript once they have been posted in SOLUS.

NOTE: If you need your transcript released prior to the Fall/Winter term release date, you must get prior approval from your Faculty / School. Arts and Science students should contact the Office of the University Registrar directly at transcpt@queensu.ca

If you place a transcript order and select 'hold for Grade Posting', orders will be released as per the dates above only if all your grades are in. If grades are missing, you may contact your Department to learn when they may be posted.

If you are graduating in the spring or fall, and require both your final grades and degree on your official transcript, please select the 'Degree Confer Date' ordering option. If you are graduating on May 19th or May 27th, please ensure that your degree status is listed as 'Awarded', then select 'Immediate Processing.'

Please note: In releasing Official Transcripts, a mark of 'IN' is considered a grade, and your transcript will reflect this. Mid-term grades do not print on official transcripts.

 

Grade Distribution Report

  • 1. On the main page of SOLUS, click on the ‘other academic…’ dropdown box and select Grades. Click the Go button.

  • 3. Click the Grade Distribution button at the top to access the Grade Distribution report for all of your courses that term. It will open in a new window.
