Strategic Implementation and Operations Task Force

Terms of Reference

  1. Purpose

To centrally coordinate the implementation of actions required to reduce the operating budget deficit.

  1. Authority

The task force provides advice and guidance to the faculty or shared service portfolio leader on proposed actions to address the budget deficit in their unit.

  1. Function

The task force oversees and coordinates changes required to reduce and balance the budget deficit. It provides feedback to decision makers about the anticipated impact on HR and faculty relations, on student experience and teaching and learning, and it advises on the legal implications of actions and on communication strategy. The task force meets regularly to review and discuss proposals from the faculties and shared services units, and the potential impacts and risks to the university.

The task force membership is small to facilitate timely feedback. Additional experts may be consulted or invited to meetings to provide information or advice.
