Prizes
Grand prize: Apple AirPods (3rd generation) valued at approximately $230.00 CAD awarded to 1 winner per week.
Runner-up prize: Gift cards to different establishments, awarded to 4 winners per week.
How to Enter and Eligibility
No purchase is required. To enter the Contest, participants must be Queen’s faculty, staff, or current students with a valid NetID. Participants must submit a quiz with questions about the weekly topic before the deadline. Participants must correctly respond to each question to be eligible to win. All entries must be received on or before the Sunday night of each week at 11:45 pm, with a limit of one entry per person.
If you attempt or are suspected of attempting to enter on behalf of someone else, your entry will be deemed null and void.
Procedure for Awarding Prizes
Once the quiz has been closed, the list of eligible participants will be used to randomly draw 5 winners. Draws will occur on the Monday following the last day to submit the quiz. Winners will be notified via email (to the account used to submit the quiz). The grand prize must be collected from the IT Support Centre in Mackintosh-Corry Hall, B205.
The grand prize winner will be drawn first in order to ensure everyone has a fair chance of winning. If you have already won a grand prize, you will be ineligible to win in subsequent weeks but are still eligible to win a gift card. If you win a gift card throughout the competition, you are still eligible to win the grand prize or another gift card in a different week.
If a winner cannot be reached within 48 hours following the first attempt of contact, or if he/she declines the prize, the prize shall be forfeited and IT Services has the right, and the sole discretion, to select another winner.
The prize shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged or refunded for an amount of money, sold, or transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.
If a situation arises beyond the control of Queen’s University and the department of IT Services, including event cancellation, strike, lockout or other unforeseen events, the Contest will be suspended. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries, all incomplete entries or entries submitted incorrectly will be discounted.
