ORA logoThe Ontario/Rhône-Alpes (ORA) Summer Research Program (SRP) is designed for undergraduate (in second year of studies or above) and graduate science students interested in conducting research with a professor at a partner ORA university in France. Students must be studying science or health science disciplines.

The program runs for either two (2) or three (3) calendar months, with some flexibility. Students who will be graduating in advance of the relevant summer term are not eligible to apply.

Knowledge of French is not required for participation, so long as the receiving professor is aware of the level of the nominee's language skills and agrees to host the student. Some knowledge of French would of course enhance the student’s experience. Students are encouraged to work with a Queen's professor to find a faculty member at a partner ORA institution who would be willing to bring them into an ongoing, relevant research project, as this is a preferred prerequisite for participation. Professor Philippe Di Stefano, Department of Physics, often meets with students to discuss the ORA SRP. They are available for virtual meetings to talk about the program, you can reach them at distefan@queensu.ca.

Appropriate academic credit may be granted for participation in this program at the discretion of the student's home department.

Visit the ORA SRP website for complete details about the program including full eligibility and costs
