Queen’s Global Summer (QGS) is the first interdisciplinary on-campus summer program, run by the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Informed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), QGS is a mix of courses, workshops, retreats, cultural events and lectures based on issues of global significance, from gender equality to sustainable communities and more.

Smith Engineering students each year find summer work around the globe through IAESTE Canada, usually in Western Europe.

Queen’s Students for Systems Change (QSSC) (formerly known as Queen’s Engineers Without Borders) works on a number of projects throughout the year that have an impact locally and globally.

International Studies Certificate

Queen's offers the International Studies Certificate option to all Queen’s University undergraduate students regardless of their degree concentration.

It is intended for those who wish to enhance their undergraduate degree with a formal international program of study. The International Studies Certificate combines language acquisition with cultural and interdisciplinary learning, and includes a study abroad experience.
