I am a current Queen's student

Current students don't need to apply for admission and can simply register for an online course on SOLUS. Distance and on-campus students may take online credit courses, and they will count towards a degree in the same way as on-campus courses.

You must have a valid student number and have been registered the preceding Fall and/or Winter term(s).

If you are a Queen's distant student but have been away from your studies in the preceding Fall and/or Winter term(s) or longer, or if you are a Queen's distant student and have not completed your first course, please fill out a Return to Studies Form prior to registration.

To view online courses on SOLUS, change the Career from Undergraduate to Distance.

Whether you are looking to catch-up or get an academic head start, fulfill a degree requirement or study a topic not currently being offered at your home institution, or if you are simply interested in experiencing Queen’s education, we invite you to explore our online course offerings in sciences, humanities and social sciences.

In the application process, you are known as a visiting student. To ensure that the credits you earn in a Queen’s online course will fulfill program requirements at your home college or university, you need to request a Letter of Permission from your home institution. This documentation helps you ensure that the course credits you take at Queen’s will be transferable.

More information on how to submit a Letter of Permission is provided in the application form. Click on the Apply button below to submit an application to take an online course as a visiting student. There is an application fee of $55 that can be paid online by VISA, MasterCard or Interac.

NOTE: Visiting students must re-apply for each term.
