There’s a pack of boys above my
classroom door, in their striped
rugby sweaters, all bearing down
on a player as he madly scoops
a loose ball.
We have him trussed like poultry,
hitting the ground,
his face a contortion, bracing
for the impending weight.
Poem, in its entirety, is available in the printed version of the current issue.
