Principal and Vice-Chancellor Patrick Deane hosted a gathering with local leaders at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts on Sept. 28 where he shared updates about Queen’s strategy and how the university is working to deepen relationships with community members through meaningful partnerships and a collaborative, shared vision for the future.
The event provided an opportunity to meet with community leaders and hear from Principal Deane about how Queen’s is striving to be a university for the future. A strong emphasis continues to be providing students with experiential learning opportunities that both strengthen their education and challenge them to think about the potential impact they can have on people locally, nationally, and globally.
“As a university for the future, we need to fully embed Queen’s in the community: building deliberate, strategic, respectful, and mutually beneficial engagement with partners outside the University, including the City of Kingston, the region, other organizations and institutions, and national and global networks that share our goals,” Principal Deane says.
