Queen’s Partnerships and Innovation is pleased to report the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 10,922,173 "Fault-Tolerant Distributed Digital Storage", on February 16, 2021, to Toritseju Okpotse and Shahram Yousefi. According to the patent (attached), this invention describes foundation code constructs that solve multiple problems in distributed storage systems by providing systematic encoding, reduced repair locality, reduced encoding/decoding complexity, and enhanced reliability.
