Offroad Robotics at Smith Engineering is an interdisciplinary field robotics research group at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada and is a member lab at the Ingenuity Labs Research Institute. We are passionate about mobile robotics, state estimation, and systems control. Our researchers have experience in several domains, including space and planetary robotics, defence and security, remote, marine, and heavy industry applications. We work on robotic mapping and vehicle positioning R&D, spatiotemporal mapping, robotic surveying, autonomous driving, multi-vehicle coordination, robotic excavation and more.
