Vanessa Silva e Silva, BScN, MSc, Research Assistant
Vanessa is a Registered Nurse in Brazil with a degree from the Federal University of Sao Paulo. She has a Master of Science degree with a dissertation and publications in organ donation program evaluation. Vanessa is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Program at the School of Nursing at Queen’s University; she has completed her coursework and comprehensive exams and is interested in exploring different approaches to research and contributing with her expertise to the development of the various projects. She has worked for more than 5 years in different fields of nursing from public health, passing through emergency and intensive care scenarios, to the complex environment involving the organ donation and transplantation coordination. In her last job, Vanessa was responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of an organ donation program in different Brazilian hospitals. Apart from her professional skills she has experience in the Academic area including previous positions as Certificate Organ Donation Course Teacher, Realistic Simulation instructor, Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant.
