Toronto Metropolitan University
Naomi is a Graduate student at Toronto Metropolitan University originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She graduated from Queen's University in 2021 with a BAH in Art History and Film and Media. During the height of COVID-19, Naomi took an interest in how a global pandemic can affect the performance industry. Her undergraduate thesis, a mini documentary series taking place during the pandemic, documented the drag community in Kingston, with a specific focus on how drag kings are treated in society. Since then, she has completed her first year of a Master’s degree at Toronto Metropolitan University in Scriptwriting and Story Design. Naomi’s interests include archival studies in Art History and Filmmaking and environmental studies with a focus on sustainable energy. Her research interests include Queer theory, feminist theory, and familial ties within both Film and Media and Renaissance/Baroque Art.
Outside of academics, Naomi can be found on film sets acting, directing, and working behind the scenes or at the pool swimming laps. She enjoys reading, writing, crochet, the great outdoors, and never shies away from an interior design project.
