GHI student fellow Michael Borsk has been awarded the 2022-23 Dunn Dissertation Fellowship at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies.
The Dunn Dissertation Fellowship will support Michael's residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia next year.
Michael is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History at Queen's University. Michael's research interests include early North American history, global and imperial history, legal history, the history of cartography, and environmental history. His doctoral project examines the role played by land surveyors in the process of state-backed property formation in both British Upper Canada and the American Old Northwest.
