Stauffer Library will be closed to all patrons and staff from Wednesday, May 4 to Sunday, May 8 due to scheduled work on the building’s electrical system. Stauffer Library will reopen on Monday, May 9 with its normal hours of operation.
All print-related services normally provided at Stauffer Library will be unavailable for the duration of the shutdown. This includes scanning to digitization services and group study rooms, as well as Interlibrary Loans (ILL) and Automated Fulfilment Network (AFN) pick-ups. There will be no access to the library terrace during the closure, and the café tables outside the loggia will also be unavailable. The café tables outside of Douglas Library will continue to be available for use unless inclement weather requires their removal.
In recognition of ongoing exams for some students, and to mitigate inconvenience for library patrons during the Stauffer closure, Queen’s University Library has extended the operating hours at Douglas Library on Wednesday, May 4, and Thursday, May 5 to 8pm. Patrons can check current operating hours on the Queen's University Library’s Locations and Hours page at any time.
Other library locations remain open for their regular operating hours for the duration of the Stauffer closure. Students seeking study spaces are encouraged to use these locations, and additional study spaces available through Queen’s Student Affairs. Students seeking adaptive software, hardware and accessible study spaces, can drop-in or book a space on the Queen's University Library’s room booking page.
