The University Secretariat has posted the Service Animals on Campus Policy for public comment from the university community.

The purpose of the policy, and the associated procedures is to assist the university, handlers, owners, providers, and persons in authority to understand the responsibilities and requirements of utilizing service animals on campus to ensure persons with disabilities who rely on service animals are accommodated, subject to obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and to any legal limitations.

The policy document can be viewed online at the University Secretariat and Legal Counsel website.

University community members have until Monday, May 31 at 4 pm to send their feedback to policies@queensu.ca.
