Together with Queen's Athletics and Recreation, the Varsity Leadership Council (VLC) collected cans of food from Gaels athletes for the Partners in Mission Food Bank during the recently-hosted Athletes Welcome event.

In total, the VLC collected and donated 795 pounds of food for Kingston’s Partners in Mission Food Bank that will go towards local families during the holiday season. This is an increase from the 634 pounds of food donated last year.

The VLC is a student-athlete organization, including both clubs and team representatives. As a council, the VLC speaks on behalf of the Queen’s student-athletes and aims to promote a positive image of Queen’s Athletics by building relations with Kingston communities through volunteer opportunities and outreach programs such as the Partners in Mission Food Bank initiative.
