Nominations for the 2023 Special Recognition for Staff Awards are now being accepted.

The awards recognize staff who consistently provide outstanding contributions, both directly or indirectly, to the learning and working environment at Queen's University at a level significantly beyond what is usually expected. Nominations can be submitted by anyone, including students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

“The Special Recognition for Staff Awards is a chance for us to shine a spotlight on those individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their roles,” says Lisa Walsh, Interim Associate Vice-Principal, Human Resources. “We encourage everyone in the Queen's community to join us in celebrating excellence by nominating those staff members who make meaningful and significant contributions to our learning and working environment.”

This year, nominations for the awards will be extended until Dec. 15, 2023, to provide ample time for participation in nominating outstanding staff. All forms and instructions are available on the HR Intranet. Those interested in submitting a nomination that do not have access to the HR Intranet can email avphr@queensu.ca to request copies of the forms and instructions. 

The awards are an important part of recognizing staff excellence at Queen’s and help to advance the university’s strategic goal around organizational culture.
