The Research Data Storage Finder (RDSF) is now available to the Queen’s research community. This self-service, interactive tool was designed to help researchers identify and compare available research data storage options for active, backup, and long-term data management.
Strong research data management practices are increasingly required by funding agencies worldwide. In Canada, following the launch of the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy in 2021, researchers are expected to develop data management plans as part of select grant applications and deposit data supporting research conclusions into repositories.
Created in partnership by the Vice-Principal Research Portfolio (VPR), Centre for Advanced Computing, Queen’s Library, and IT Services, the RDSF aligns with best practices in research data management and ensures compliance with funding agency requirements as well as ethical, legal, and commercial obligations.
To access the RDSF, visit the website.
On March 18, from noon to 1pm, VPR will host an online session for researchers interested in learning more about the new tool, as part of the Resources for Researchers at Queen’s (R4R@Q) series. The session will provide an overview of RDM best practices and summarize the different storage solutions presented on the RDSF. To register, visit the website.
