The Gaels are competing at the USPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship in Quebec City and are facing the host Laval Rouge et Or in a semifinal matchup today (Friday) at 7 p.m.
It’s a matchup of the most recent champions with Queen’s taking the title in 2021 and Laval defending the 2022 crown.
The winner will play for the national title Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m.
The bronze medal match starts at 1 p.m.
Games are being broadcast on CBC Gem.
The Gaels women’s soccer team will face OUA eastern conference rivals the Ottawa Gee-Gees for the provincial title on Saturday at noon in Ottawa. The match will be broadcast on OUA.tv.
The Gaels beat the Western Mustangs on Wednesday in a shootout following a scoreless draw in London while the Gee-Gees topped the McMaster Marauders 2-1 at home.
Ottawa topped the standings with near perfect record of 11 wins and a draw while the Gaels were close behind with 10 wins, a loss and a draw. The teams met on Sept. 24 in Ottawa with the match ending in a scoreless draw.
