Human Resources has launched a new strategic plan, Empowering our People. The four-year plan identifies key strategic priorities that the department will work to achieve by 2025 and reflects an extensive consultation journey with both internal and external partners.

“People are at the center of everything we do, so it was critical that their ideas and values were reflected in our plan,” says Steven Millan, Associate Vice-Principal, Human Resources. “We started consultation nearly two years ago and were guided by an experienced advisory committee with diverse representation from across campus. We surveyed leaders and hosted focus group sessions with our teams to better understand what matters most to them. The final plan was built upon these ideas and serves as a roadmap for the years ahead. It’s ambitious, and exciting, but above all else it empowers our people.”

The new plan prioritizes five areas that are critically important to the Queen’s community and aligns with the broader Queen’s Strategy:

  • Nurturing a Culture of Well-being
  • Fostering Operational Excellence
  • Empowering Leaders
  • Re-envisioning Talent Management
  • Cultivating Workplace Belonging

The plan will guide Human Resources from 2022 to 2025 as the department looks to fulfill their mission, achieve their vision, and advance their strategic priorities with the support of partners from across the university.
