As winter weather starts to set in, members of the Queen’s community may be considering making changes to their commute to campus. Kingston Transit’s Employer Transpass Program offers Queen’s employees unlimited trips on Kingston Transit for $55.25 a month – $24.75 less than a regular bus pass – and it is paid automatically through payroll deductions. Transpass users reduce their carbon footprint as well as their time spent driving through winter weather. Users receive the first month of Transpass for free, and, if they are hesitant to give up their parking pass, Queen’s Commuter Services will hold their permit for two months while they see if Transpass works for them. With the City of Kingston’s Express Bus System, travelers can reach campus in 20 minutes or less from all over Kingston. More than 300 Queen’s employees are already enrolled in the program.

$10/day parking permits are available by using the Honk Mobile app at four different parking lots (Tindall, West Campus, 355 King, Union/Division) so faculty, staff, students, and visitors can have flexibility in their commuting options.  Simply find a spot in one of the designated lots, select the area on the map in the Honk Mobile App, choose the amount of time you would like to stay, and you will get an email of your receipt. Users also have the option of adding more time if they need to. Download the Honk Mobile app today on the Apple App Store, Google Play or visit honkmobile.com. The pay and display stations also feature the mobile parking option while also including additional payment options.

Sign up for Transpass by sending an email to Adam Pennock with Kingston Transit at apennock@cityofkingston.ca.
