Donna Janiec, Vice-Principal (Finance and Administration), and Benoit-Antoine Bacon, Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), have announced two senior-level appointments in Human Resources and Faculty Relations that will take effect on Dec. 1, 2016.
Dan Bradshaw accepted a continuing appointment as associate vice-principal (human resources) and Dan McKeown accepted a continuing appointment as associate vice-principal (faculty relations).
Dan Bradshaw has served as the interim associate vice-principal (human resources) since Feb. 1, 2016.
“During the past 10 months in this role, Mr. Bradshaw has demonstrated exemplary leadership across the portfolio and I am very pleased to have him continue on as associate vice-principal (human resources),” says Ms. Janiec.
Mr. Bradshaw leads the Employee/Labour Relations, HR Client Services, Human Resource Management Systems, Organization Development and Learning, Pension Services and Total Compensations departments in Human Resources. Prior to Feb. 1, Mr. Bradshaw held the role of director, faculty relations, and subsequently associate vice-principal (faculty relations) at Queen’s since August 2009. In this role, Mr. Bradshaw has served as the university’s main liaison with the Queen’s University Faculty Association and successfully negotiated two renewed collective agreements on behalf of the university.
Mr. McKeown has provided strong leadership for Faculty Relations on an interim basis since February 2016, following two years as associate director (faculty relations).
“Mr. McKeown has contributed to the academic mission by ably supporting the university’s important relationships with academic unions and by providing excellent leadership and guidance on various personnel processes and issues,” says Dr. Bacon.
The provost added that Mr. McKeown has demonstrated leadership in his capacity as co-chair of a number of committees arising under the academic collective agreements, including JCAA and the Teaching Assessment Committee, and by directing a team that advances the interests of the university by seeking mutually satisfactory solutions to workplace issues.
