Available Experts: What can we expect from the Trump Presidency?

Following a historic win, former President Donald Trump is returning to office, poised to become the 47th President of the United States. Queen’s experts are available to speak to media on the following topics, including some of the President-elect’s campaign promises, including a firm stance on immigration, his views on gender rights, his world-changing foreign policies, and what this will mean for relations with Canada.

Sharry Aiken (Law) - Prof. Aiken can speak to his campaign “promise” to seal the southern border and launch a deportation program.

Lee Airton (Gender Studies) - Dr. Airton can speak to Trump’s anti-transgender rhetoric and can help explain what this could look like for Americans.

Amar Amarasingam (School of Religion and Political Studies) - Dr. Amarasingham can speak to Trump’s rhetoric and far right leanings. Dr Amarasingam is available for print media only.

Jane Boulden (Political Studies) - Dr. Boulden can speak to the implications for the war in Ukraine, as well as implications for NATO and by extension Canadian foreign and defence policy. 

Paul Gardner (History) - Dr. Gardner can speak to institutional separation of powers and domestic policymaking in the United States.

Nicolas Lamp (Law) - Prof. Lamp can speak to Trump’s trade policy plans.
