Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland announced today that she is resigning from her post as Finance Minister in the Trudeau cabinet.
The news broke just hours before she was set to deliver the government’s fall economic statement. Political Studies expert Kathy Brock is available to speak to media about this shocking turn of events.
“The loss of strong women is a theme that is being underplayed as well as a strong voice to counter Donald Trump. Was the Prime Minister afraid of being upstaged when he met with Trump? Was that the signal of how irreparable the breach between the Prime Minster and Finance Minister had become? Who will stand in the House to deliver the economic statement?”.
