Queen’s students involved in Team Ontario – a group from three provincial post-secondary institutions dedicated to promoting renewable energy and sustainable living – received a significant contribution this week to their cause from accounting firm KPMG.

KPMG, a supporter of innovative solutions and local communities, donated $20,000 to Team Ontario, which is one of 20 collegiate teams from around the world competing in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013.

The Decathlon, held in October, challenges teams from around the world to design, build and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient and attractive.

Information on the 2013 Solar Decathlon can be found at www.solardecathlon.gov.
