The following is a statement from Principal Woolf:

I am extremely saddened to hear the news coming out of Calgary today about the five young people killed at a house party. It is news that hits close to home. Universities are tight knit communities and I can only imagine the impact this tragedy is having on the students, faculty and staff at the University of Calgary. On behalf of the entire Queen’s community, I want them to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them, as well as with the families of the victims.

To members of the Queen’s community, I hope that you will turn to one another or to Health, Counselling and Disability Services for support if you need it. University Chaplain Kate Johnson will also have the Morgan Memorial Chapel open tonight for those looking to spend some time in quiet contemplation. Please take care of one another at this challenging time.

Health, Counselling and Disability Services can be reached at 613-533-6000 ext. 78264.
