On behalf of Queen’s University, I would like to express my deep concern for the safety and well-being of Prof. John Greyson and Dr. Tarek Loubani currently being detained in Cairo, Egypt. The academic world is a small one and both men have friends and collaborators among our faculty and at universities across the country. It is extremely troubling that Prof. Greyson and Dr. Loubani are being held without charge and in violation of their human rights. We join many others in calling for the immediate release of both men.
