[Joanne Linnay presents at Queen's Three Minute Thesis competition.]Joanne Linnay, a candidate in Queen’s Master of Environmental Studies program, participated in heat one of Queen’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Her presentation was entitled “Mixing philanthropy and profits: the limitations of social enterprises.”

“3MT is a wonderful way for students to share their research and practice communicating complex ideas to a general audience,” says Matthew Scribner, SGPS President. “With only three minutes to present, it is a challenging competition and a great event to watch.”

Founded at Australia's University of Queensland in 2008, 3MT has since spread to universities around the world. Everyone is welcome to attend as Queen's students face off against each other this week. The top two students coming out of the finals on March 21 will go on to compete in the provincial round of 3MT, which Queen’s will host in April.
