Flags on campus are lowered in memory of Professor Emeritus Reginald W. Smith.
Dr. Smith came to Canada in 1968 to join Queen’s as a professor of metallurgy. He continued his research in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering after he was appointed an emeritus professor.
Following a private service at James Reid Funeral Home on May 5, cremation took place at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. Dr. Smith’s final resting place will be at Ewyas Harold, England, following a ceremony to be arranged at Ewyas Harold Parish Church.
Family, friends and colleagues are invited to a memorial service at Grant Hall on Monday, May 12, at 2 pm. Immediately following the service, all attendees are invited for a reception and refreshments at the University Club (12 Stuart St.)
