Flags on campus are lowered in memory of Dr. Jim Owen, a faculty member in the School of Medicine. Dr. Owen obtained his PhD in Pharmacology from Queen’s and was an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, and Biomedicine and Molecular Sciences.

His interest was in medical education and he authored several medical education CDs as well as continuing medical education programs on the internet. Most recently, he had written numerous Psychopharmacology chapters in text books. Dr. Owen had a great passion for teaching and won many teaching awards. His sense of humour and inquiring mind will be greatly missed.

A memorial service for Dr. Owen will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CanAssist African Relief.
