Flags on campus are lowered in honour of Donald Mackenzie Schurman, a history professor at Queen's during the '60s and '70s.

Dr. Schurman was one of the three founding principal investigators of the Disraeli Project, as well as a director of the Institute of Commonwealth and Comparative Studies (1975-1977).
