The university’s Strategic Enrolment Management Group (SEMG) has begun its initial task of creating a multi-year enrolment plan for the university.

The SEMG will eventually develop both short and long-term enrolment plans to help the university establish, achieve and maintain optimum enrolment and a balanced mix of quality programs for both graduate and undergraduate students.

“The work of this group will ensure the university fully understands the implications of faculties’ enrolment plans and consider their appropriateness,” says Alan Harrison, Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic).

In the short term, the SEMG will create a three-year enrolment plan for 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16 for submission to the Senate Committee on Academic Development (SCAD) and then to the full Senate in April.

In the long-term the SEMG’s goal is to project enrolment at the university to 2020 and beyond in alignment with the university’s strategic and academic planning processes.

The SEMG has administrative representation from all faculties. Membership also includes a faculty member and student government representatives. They will be meeting frequently over the next several months.
