On March 2nd, the Department of French Studies welcomes André Picard to give a special lecture entitled,
"Medicare 2050: Rebuilding the health system for an aging society."
With federal and provincial governments negotiating health transfers and ways to address our ailing healthcare system, the topic of this talk is timely. Many in the Queen's and greater Kingston community will value an opportunity to hear André share his expertise on this topic.
Join us in the Ellis Hall Auditorium (Queen’s campus), from 6 – 7:30 pm.
Jane Philpott, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, will be moderating the event.
This special lecture is part of the “Michener Visitorship Series.” The Michener Fund was started as a gift to Queen’s, with a mandate to bring distinguished francophone Canadians to Queen’s.
André Picard was selected as this year’s speaker in recognition of the fact that he is a francophone who has made a career in English-language journalism and because it is important for journalists to have the opportunity to express their thoughts in an academic context.
