Project Details

The City of Kingston is looking for support in the development of a Community Food Sustainability Plan for the Kingston region to help foster equitable and sustainable food systems for all. Before creating a plan, it’ll be important to better understand the challenges and opportunities surrounding food within the Kingston community. Inputs into a food sustainability plan could include researching a community food system report card for the Kingston region; exploring the local landscape to map out current programs and services in the community; mapping out alignment of the city's strategic priorities related to the food ecosystem; identifying recommendations for key pillars and metrics for a city report card; and/or prototype and process map documentation of a report card template. Research could also include assessing food sustainability plans created in other regions and assessing key takeaways or how elements could apply to the local context.

This project can be completed remotely and meetings can take place either in person or online.

Project Goals

Develop a broad community food sustainability plan which could include social markets/pantries.
