Art Hive @Agnes addresses themes of empowerment, wellness and self-care while fostering a safe space and a sense of community. Facilitator Biography:

Harper Johnston, BA, B.Ed, MFA, DTATI has over thirty years of experience working as an arts educator with adults, adolescents and children. She is a professional art therapist, a play therapy intern and is currently completing the requisite hours to become a Registered Psychotherapist. Harper also worked in film for many years as a stills photographer and camera assistant. Her film work, primarily with the C.B.C. and the National Film Board, took her all over the world. Harper has received numerous arts council grants and her photography has been shown across the country. She also has work in the Canada Council’s Art Bank permanent collection. 

 Harper has been facilitating Art Hive @Agnes since January 2019.

What Is… an NFT? With David Cash (Online with Agnes)

What Is…? Is a series of casual and introductory talks focusing on subjects connected to current Agnes exhibitions and topical subjects in the art world.

Queen's University Alumnus and NFT Evangelist David Cash presents a crash course in Non-Fungible Tokens, Decentralized Finance, and how crypto will influence our futures. Cash wrote their master's thesis on NFTs and DeFi and has since been consulting, lecturing and helping create NFT drops for some of the biggest brands and celebrities in the world. Cash's number one goal is to ease mass adoption in the crypto space. In this session, Cash will guide participants through a brief history of Crypto.

Speaker Biography:
David Cash has nearly two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, starting as a child actor before starting a production company David Cash Studios. Cash completed a Master’s Thesis on NFTs and Blockchain exploring their applications to Art, Fashion and Society. After minting their first NFT in 2019, it came as a surprise when the space exploded with viral vigour. Cash is now the Editor-In-Chief of three publications in the NFTfi Space, a key instrument in the processes of both physical and digital NFT Art exhibitions globally, serving the global community as a leader speaking at universities and organizations around the world. Cash aims to create the editorial voice of the crypto space and help dictate the visual language of our future.
