One of the most significant future decisions for researchers is choosing whether to pursue a career in industry or academia. Current data indicates that up to ~80% of graduates will transition into careers outside of academia.
Queen’s Partnerships and Innovation (QPI) is here to help you understand the key principles of partnerships, innovation, technology transfer and commercialization and academia.
QPI invites you to a one-hour information session designed specifically for researchers (e.g., graduate students and post-doctoral researchers).
Led by our Partnerships Development Officers, this session will showcase how we can assist you in building valuable industry partnerships, outline the services we can offer including intellectual property advice and guidance toward internships, start-up formation, or taking a market-focused approach to the research you are conducting.
In this information session you will learn:
- About tailored workshops available from our Partnerships Development Officers
- Resources and services available from Partnerships and Innovation such as commercialization strategies and startup creation and partnership strategies
- How to reach out regarding intellectual property and invention disclosures
- Internship options as well as collaboration and funding opportunities in working with industry partners
Join us to learn about the guidance available to help you make the most of your skills and achieve your career aspirations.
