This is a Principal's Office sponsored University event, with collaboration from the University Chaplain. It is held annually in collective Remembrance of all who have fallen in the military service of their country. The service at Queen's pays special remembrance to the many students, faculty, and staff, who have lost their lives in the defence of freedom. We remember especially the 5th Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers (a military unit which comprised mostly Queen's, faculty, students, and staff). It is an occasion for solemn reflection, and is held in a respectful and thoughtful way, with particular consideration to the many members of our community who are serving, veterans, or who have family members, who have served, or are serving, including those who have fallen. This is a non partisan event, that reflects on the sombre nature of conflict and associated loss.
