The Introduction to High-Peformance Computing (HPC) workshop is 1 of 8 workshops that are being offered in the Ontario East High Performance Summer School hosted by the Centre for Advanced Computing at Queen's University. This virtual workshop is a free regional training resource intended to provide an immersive introduction to the world of advanced computing.

Description: This workshop is intended to give a good introduction and overview of the high-performance computing (HPC) tools available at the Centre for Adavnced Computing (CAC) and how to use them effectively. By the end of this workshop, participants will know how to use the UNIX command line to operate a computer, connect to a cluster, write simple shell scripts, submit and manage jobs on a cluster using a scheduler, transfer files, and use software through environment modules.
