The 2018 Barry Smith Symposium aims to introduce and tackle issues that are important for healthcare and systemic change, but that are not normally a part of the curriculum. We hope to educate students so that they can recognize the challenges ahead of them, and to inspire them to take action in the face of these challenges. The event is held in a panel format, and as such, emphasizes discussion and interaction with the audience.

This year we will be joined by a highly esteemed panel to share their views on Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights. We are pleased to welcome Lisa Kelly, Dr. Ashley Waddington, Manavi Handa, and Dr. Jenna Healey as our featured speakers and Dr. Romy Nitsch as our moderator.

The event will be taking place on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4:30 – 7:30 pm in the New Medical Building, on 15 Arch street. Please join us for food and refreshments at 4:30 pm in the atrium, which will be followed by the symposium at 5pm in room 132A.
