Seventh Day of Pesah and Holy Friday (E)
Last observed day for Reform Jews. Pesaḥ commemorates the departure of the Israelites from Egypt. It is the first of the three major festivals with both historical and agricultural significance (the other two are Shavuot and Sukkot). For Orthodox and Conservative Jews outside Israel, Pesaḥ is celebrated for eight days: eve + first and second days + seventh (second last) and eighth (last) days are non-working. Religious accommodation may be required for this observance/holy day. Suspension of work/classes may be requested by observant.
Holy Friday (E) commemorates the Passion of Jesus Christ, i.e., his submission to death by crucifixion. Religious accommodation for special worship may be required for this observance/holy day.
