The Painter’s Survival Guide with Emily Joyce at Agnes
Find on Campus Map
During this comprehensive two-day workshop (5–6 November, 10–5 pm daily) participants dive deep into the world of acrylics, acrylic mediums and colour mixing.
This workshop provides participants with the knowledge they need to take full advantage of different contemporary acrylic mediums, increase their artist material literacy and understand how to improve their studio practice to better care for their acrylic paintings. Explore acrylic paints and contemporary painting mediums in-depth, discuss their functions and applications, and focus on colour mixing and palette creation with acrylics to expertly include colour in your work.
Experiment with the materials and processes discussed during the workshop, and build, stretch, prime and develop one acrylic painting on canvas with a curated colour palette using the knowledge gathered in the class.
This program and the bursaries are made possible by the Rita Friendly Kaufman Fund and Iva Speers Fund for Art Education.
