  • 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
  • Dunning Hall Rm 14

The Trump administration’s assassination of Iranian major general Qasim Soleimani in Iraq on January 3, 2020 has again pushed the Middle East toward the brink of a region-wide war.  Already, armed conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Yemen have drawn neighbouring countries into opposing alignments.  Most Queen’s University students have lived the better part of their lives during an era known as the “War on Terror.” Tragically for the region and the world, an operation that could have narrowly targeted the perpetrators of attacks on September 11th has mushroomed into a multi-continental conflict that has killed, maimed and displaced hundreds of thousands and destroyed entire countries.  How did we get here?
