Masterclass: Social Finance
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Is there a role for capital markets in creating social change? Can government, private and social sector actors collaborate effectively together?
The appetite for social finance is growing across Canada. Impact funds and green bonds are two of the many new and innovative ideas gaining momentum in the marketplace, and inspiring organizations and consumers to think differently about their investments.
As the practice of investing for impact takes shape and governments strive to generate better results for social service spend, new approaches are being developed to help facilitate these shifts. This Masterclass will put the leading-edge examples under the microscope and will allow for a healthy debate about the future of private investment for social good.
The first of a series of Masterclasses hosted by the Centre for Social Impact, SOCIAL FINANCE will be led by Adam Jagelewski, Co-Founder of Canada’s leading impact investing intermediary, Centre for Impact Investing at MaRs Discovery District. Adam is an expert in the area of impact investing, social impact bonds and social impact.
The Masterclass in Social Finance provides an overview of Social Finance in the morning with a deeper dive on Social Impact Bonds in the afternoon. A light lunch will be provided.
