Description:
Also called Midsummer's Eve, Litha celebrates the consummation of the sacred marriage in which the energy of the God is poured out in the service of life. His sacrifice, resulting in his total immolation by the end of the season, sets the standard of self-giving in service to the Goddess. Litha comes on the June solstice. Religious accommodation for special worship may be required for this observance/holy day. -----
Formerly called National Aboriginal Day, this is a national day of solidarity for First Nations People (Canada). Others are invited to share in celebration of aboriginal traditions and culture. See: http://www.aadnc-aandc.gc.ca/eng/1100100013248
