Queen’s University has a long history of engagement and support of northern research, particularly in the Canadian North. The 8th Annual Queen’s Northern Research Symposium aims to bring together students, postdoctoral fellows, researchers and professors from across Queen’s University but also from other Universities to discuss northern research. This one-day symposium will provide opportunities for students, researchers and professors to participate in a day of presentations, networking and engaging scientific discussions.

Participation is open to those working on northern-related research and also those who are simply interested in the broad topics being studied in the region. The symposium will include oral sessions in the morning and afternoon, and a dedicated poster session around lunchtime. While anyone working in the north is welcome to participate, we encourage students, both graduate and undergraduate, to submit abstracts both for posters and oral presentations. Researchers who are new to Queen’s, or new to Northern research, are also particularly encouraged to participate. Refreshments and lunch will be provided to attendees. 

The 8th Annual Queen’s Northern Research Symposium will be hosted in the Biosciences Complex. Talks will be in room 1102, while posters will be displayed in the Atrium.
