Emma Ferrett

Biography

I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and immigrated to Canada in 2013, where I completed a Bachelor and Master of Arts in English Language & Literatures from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. My research interests are in ecocritical studies - specifically, I like to think about any critters we might consider to be pests (weeds, fungi, microbes, insects, rodents, parasites) in contemporary Canadian and Indigenous literatures. On any given day, you'll find me investigating plants and insects around Kingston with my dog, Basil.
