The Department of Family Medicine at Queen's University is an interdisciplinary collaboration of health professionals, teachers, researchers, clerical, and administrative staff who are based both at the university and in the community.
The department began in 1967 as a small five-room Family Care Unit at Kingston General Hospital.
It became a full academic department in 1971 and now has one of the largest postgraduate training programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
