Jenny Dee

At the end of December, Jennifer Dee will be retiring after a remarkable 43 years of service to Queen’s. Jenny’s retirement will mark a significant milestone for the program, faculty, staff, and MIR graduates.

Jenny worked in the MIR Program office for 18 years. The hallmark of her time was her genuine and deep devotion to each class of MIRs, and her dedication to their success both during the time they were in the program as well as beyond. She is known and beloved by our MIR Alums – she is a MIR Alum herself, having graduated Class of '96. Jenny was a key bridge between faculty, staff, contemporary students, and MIR Alum – no matter when they graduated. In turn, every year, she garnered the appreciation of the students to whom she has offered her support and counsel, as they work hard to complete the MIR program and begin to navigate the industrial relations profession.

In recently introducing herself to the latest class-year, Jenny remarked that “I have a passion for people, for problem solving (frequently in creative ways) and for all our Alumni.  I have stayed in touch with many and count them among my colleagues and friends … the success of our MIR graduates has been a privilege to witness.” Indeed, we have been most fortunate to have shared the MIR journey with Jennifer over the past several decades.

We are putting together a online Memory Book for Jennifer, as a keepsake of her time with the program and all the wonderful people that she has met along the way. We hope that you will contribute, in order to make this endeavour a treasure for Jennifer.

Jenny’s many contributions are deeply appreciated by all of us, and it has been a genuine pleasure to work alongside her all these many years. Jenny, from all of us to you, our best wishes!
